Good Morning!  My name is Glenda. I had recently found your website, and what a great job!! I had ordered a conch shell with  horn in it to be a part of my sons wedding on the beach in South Carolina. It was the Unity Horn in their ceremony. That was the best part of the wedding. I appreciate you getting it to me so quickly, in about 4 business days. I have lots of nautical decor in my home, I am sure I will be shopping here frequently.   Thanx Again,

In January of 2008, the Kansas City Symphony, in which I am Principal Trombone, programmed "The Night of the Maya" by Mexican composer Silvestre Revueltas, and I was given the opportunity to play the prominent part for conch shell in the final movement. The staff of the KCS managed to find a conch shell for me, but I was convinced I could do better. Before I found the Legendary Shells webpage, I had no idea how much better I could do. The instrument I acquired from Legendary Shells for the performance was more than ideal, it was perfect. The beautiful conch shell had a rope lanyard to assist in holding the instrument and was also affixed with a brass ring similar to a trombone mouthpiece rim. The sound was robust and captivating. The shell also gave me about an octave of tones to work with; this was particularly helpful, since in the Revueltas piece, there is a long cadenza for improvised percussion---for the first time in my career, I found myself trading improvised riffs on the conch shell with a percussionist on bass drum. The audience as well as my colleagues absolutely loved it.

I highly recommend the conch shell horns made by Legendary Shells. Anyone who desires one of these noble instruments for either personal or professional application should look no further.

The Kansas City Star

It is a marvelous collection of “primitive” Latin American imagery, from the splashy opening to the pleasantly irregular rhythms of the “Jaranas” to the clicks and clacks of the huge ensemble of exotic instruments. There were bongos, indigenous drums, guiro — you name it. Trombonist Roger Oyster was even called upon at one point to play a monotone ostinato on a conch shell !

Dear Robert,

My Triton Horn was delivered about 11:00 a.m. this morning.  The shell is exquisite!

I opened the box right away to confirm that there was no damage, but did not disturb your internal wrapping.  I want my friend, for whom this is a gift, to share in that part of the unwrapping.

So the shell will not sound until tomorrow.  I have complete confidence, having spoken with you and seen the truth of your words about the shell and your experience with packing and delivery, that the quality of this exceptional Triton will fully live up to my expectations.

I thank you for your your craftsmanship, your service and your kindness.

We received the beautiful half dollar sized’ sand dollars.  You said you would hand pick our order and they were perfect!  There was a tiny chip on one of the sand dollars but your inclusion of several extra more than made up for it. Our sand dollars were glued onto beautiful white on white embossed cone shaped boxes and secured with a tiny satin chocolate brown ribbon,  They were so elegant and the perfect treasure box for my personalized M & M’s.  I can’t tell you how pleased we were with your safe packaging and quick delivery.  You made us happy.

My son and his fiancé’ were surprised and very pleased with the favors at their Rehearsal Dinner.  Many, many compliments were given on the perfect sand dollars which matched our invitation and has now become a significant part of their wedding weekend memories.  I would absolutely recommend you to all and expect to order from you again.

They are BEAUTIFUL. They have been a hit with everyone who sees them.

Many, many thanks once again.

Mr. Conch King,

Thank You so much for making sure my beautiful Nautilus Shells arrived to me safely. When I got inside the wrapping and saw them, I was literally speechless. They are so beautiful! I am using mine at my garden wedding in October. In the gardens they have strict rules on what you can have at the ceremony and prohibit fire, so we can't light a unity candle. So I am using the shells and filling them with sand and we will pour them into a beautiful vase  Together to symbolize our families uniting. So thank you so much for taking such an interest in providing the best quality and promptness around!!

With Much Gratitude!

Dear Robert,

This is Lance from Pueblo, Colorado.  I just received the Caribbean Conch shell that I ordered and I must say I am thrilled with it.  It is the largest conch shell I have ever seen and the different shades of pink in the inside of it go beautifully with the wine and burgundy accent colors of my home. I have it sitting upright on my oak coffee table in my living room and have really enjoyed just looking at it and admiring the incredible natural beauty of the this creation from the sea.   I can see that it is in excellent condition.  The outer edge of the lip of the shell is so smooth and I can seen where it was probably trimmed down and smoothed out to make it look absolutely beautiful.   As I may of mentioned to you before I have paid much more for seashells from other companies and to my disappointment many of them were dirty, chipped or even cracked. I can see from this conch shell, that you truly do take the time to clean and polish every shell you sell to make each one the best that it can be. I am so glad I found your web site.   You will have me for a customer for life.   Thanks so much

Sincerely,

Lance Yorgason

Dear Conch King,

The Conchs were a big hit with our wedding party as gifts. They also made a fabulous sound before my wife walked down the aisle. I wanted to thank you for getting these items to me in a timely fashion and ensuring the beauty and quality of the shell. My wife cried when I gave her the Giant Triton Horn that included the engraving on the lanyard. It felt like we were in the Islands with the beautiful setting and sound of the horns. I have included some picks as attachments.

Thank you again for adding that extra effect to our special day.

Respectfully,

Erik & Danielle Long

Thank you!!  Thank you!!

I received my shells this morning and am very pleased!  They arrived in good condition.  I especially appreciate the generous count that you sent to me.  The Haitian Tree Snails are so amazing that they will be a continuing pleasure to look at on the upcoming winter days.  You have sent me shells that I will probably never see or collect in the wild.

A special blessing for you and your enterprise!

I have just purchased two nautilas shells from you.  They came a day ahead of time and are the most magnifcent speciments I have ever seen.  So clean, not smelly and highly polished with no jagged edges or cracks.  Museum quality.  Boy, you guys know your stuff!   Thank you and keep up the good work.  P.S.  We just got back from Bermuda where the Pearl Nautilas' were selling for $45-$65.00 and weren't even as big and beautiful.  Thought you would like to know.

Dear Legendary Shells,

This year I purchased several shell oil lamps and one conch horn for gifts for my friends and family.  Everyone simply loved how beautiful and unique their gifts were.  The oil lamps are stunning when lit, and the conch horn was one of the best gifts ever!  The sound of the horn is deep and robust!  Moreover, I was so pleased at the quality with which the lamps are made.  Each one is a true work of art.  The shells they are made from are first-rate.  I was delighted to be able to give them to my friends and family this year for Christmas.  I look forward to purchasing from you the next time I need a special gift for someone.

Sincerely,
Ben Keay

HI, I just wanted to say that I ordered and received 90+ Irish Deep Scallops for a wedding and I have to tell you that they are more than I ever expected. They are beautiful and perfect. A couple were broken but since you sent a few extra I still have enough and I know they will impress the families at the wedding. You are now in my *favorites* list and will pass the word how great your items are. Thanks so much, Teresa Robbins

We are absolutely thrilled with all the shells! They are even more beautiful than we expected! The horn is wonderful, I'm sure our son will love it. The lamps are gorgeous and will be a big hit at the wedding. Thank you for such a wonderful product and super fast service! The engraved plate looks great.  I was concerned about what toll the shipping would have on the shells, but you packed them exceptionally! Everything was in perfect condition. Thanks again!!

Dear Robert,
My horn is beautiful.  It arrived Wednesday, in time to begin toughening up my poor lip.  It is just a bit low, but if I make sure not to block the opening with my hand at all, it is just high enough to qualify as a "folk instrument 'E' ".   It's so much easier to play (with the brass  mouthpiece) than my other conch, and has a big round sound.  My challenge will be to play it softly when required, and to have the endurance needed on it. (It plays almost continuously for several minutes).
I don't actually play it with the orchestra until Wednesday, but I heard a recording of the piece today (Revueltas "Night of the Maya").  It's wild, loud, and sounds like a Human Sacrifice Convention.  The horn on my recording is actually playing a 'C', and sounds rather wimpy and erratic. I hope I can do better.
Thanks so much for your prompt service and excellent product.

Hi Robert!

The package arrived and all is well indeed! J  The fox pair looks awesome with the Triton and the pearl nautilus is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! Thank you so very much!  Sorry I haven’t been back to you sooner---cooking for Thanksgiving is a “multi-day” affair at my house. LOL!  I am so pleased with all the lamps—they are so unique and are the perfect centerpiece for our “sea-themed” holiday table.

Holiday blessings and rest assured we’ll be back to shop again !

Wholefoods Store Opening

Not only did everyone at the store LOVE the horn, but it was a huge hit at the charity benefit we threw in the store.  The seafood team was so into it, that when we opened to the public today, they were using it all day as a "call to seafood".....the customers thought it was a blast.

When I get the pictures back from our photographer I'll send them along.

Thanks again!
